Great Lakes Iron Ore Trade Up 20.7 Percent
Shipments of iron ore on the Great Lakes totaled 4.8 million tons in December, an increase of 19.8 percent compared to December, 2022. Shipments were just slightly above the five-year average for the month.
Compared to the trade’s five-year average, 2023 iron ore loadings were up 4.5 percent.
