The Request for Information (RFI), published Aug. 17 by the Brown County Port & Resource Recovery Department, is intended to identify one or more entities interested in leasing the property. The site includes 850 feet of dock wall and is being developed with direct access to the federal navigation channel at the mouth of the Fox River. 

The 14.5-acre southern portion is part of a larger 37.5-acre redevelopment project that includes new dock wall, dredging, storage yard improvements, stormwater infrastructure, a heavy-lift crane pad, lighting, power and other port infrastructure. Full construction is anticipated to be completed in late 2027. 

The site will offer access to a 300-foot-wide navigation channel maintained at 24 feet below low water datum, with approximately 225 feet of area adjacent to the dock wall to be dredged to 26 feet and maintained at 24 feet. A heavy-lift crane pad measuring 68 by 70 feet also will be installed on the southern parcel. 

Port Green Bay is seeking tenants that can demonstrate economic benefits, including commitments for jobs and cargo volumes. Coal and coal-based derivatives such as pet-coke will not be permitted on the site. Lease proposals may cover a minimum of two acres, with the port expressing a preference for a 25-year lease while considering proposals of at least three years.

Formal proposals are due by 4:30 p.m. CDT on Oct. 15, 2026.
