The Great Lakes Towing Company Assists with Vessel Grounding
The pilot aboard the stranded BARBRO G contacted the Towing Company’s 24-hour operations center, requesting immediate assistance. The Towing Company dispatched two tugboats to the scene to aid in freeing the vessel.
Over the course of two days, The Great Lakes Towing Company worked with the vessel’s agents, the U.S. Coast Guard, salvors, and the insurance company representing the BARBRO G’s owners. The Towing Company dispatched a third tugboat to the site to assist in freeing the grounded vessel. The operation took less than two hours.
