IMPACT! 2025 Award

Help us recognize our industry’s influential women!

INSPIRED BY THE WOMEN AROUND US, The Great Lakes/Seaway Review is now accepting nominations for the IMPACT! 2025 Award, an annual award to recognize outstanding women in shipping.

In partnership with Women in Logistics, the award is presented annually to one woman based on her contributions to her company and the Great Lakes/St. Lawrence Seaway shipping industry.

Past IMPACT! Award winners:

2025: Charlene Munden, Captain, Algoma Central Corporation

2024: Rebecca S.Yackley, Director, Office of Trade & Economic Development, Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation

2023: Nicole Trépanier, Director, External Relations and Communications, Fednav

2022: Marie Strum, Chief of the Engineering and Technical Services Division for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Detroit District

2021: Sonia Simard, formerly with Shipping Federation of Canada

CRITERIA FOR CONSIDERATION FOR THE IMPACT! 2025 AWARD

  • A notable contribution to the betterment of her company and the Great Lakes/St. Lawrence Seaway shipping industry.
  • A style of leadership which garners respect and action.
  • An attitude of sharing accomplishments with the staff around her.

Great Lakes/Seaway Review is accepting nominations through Wednesday, November 20, 2024. As part of the nomination process, Great Lakes/Seaway Review will notify the nominees and ask them to fill out a brief questionnaire. These forms will need to be returned by November 29, 2024. They will be added to the original nomination. Following the November 29 deadline, Great Lakes/Seaway Review will notify the winner and the remaining nominees.

The award will be presented at the 7th annual Women in Logistics (WIL) networking event on Thursday, January 16, 2025, in Toronto. Event details to follow.
